| 4th October 1920 Electros 6
& 7 (as
before on multi wmk)
The unsuccessful Large Multiple
Watermark was abandoned and printings resumed on single watermark paper.
First appearing in October 1920.
1920 Bluish green.
1921 Blue green.
1923 Early. Bright yellow green.
1923 Late. Dark bluish green. Scarce, rough printing on thin, brittle paper.
An original note here indicated quad plate printing using plates 4/5
(which naturally and of course, by this time, had CA substituted monograms). Since there is
only one single example known of a CA substitute on KGV paper, it is
impossible that these plates were printed in quad. (there would be 1,000's
of examples). It is more probable that *because* there was a small printing
on the original KGV paper during the reign of the large multiple, it was
mistaken to mean they were printed concurrently (aka quad plate). |
