When it came time to print further quantities of the ½d value, both the paper, and the printer, had changed.

The only difference on this paper is it has Mullett imprints on the Harrison set of electros.

There is the same 8L60 / 9L60 difference between electros.

Comb13 Ash Imprints

Although the "Ash" printings of the ½d were made in November, 1927, it was not until a year later on November 28, 1928, that these stamps were issued. They were, for the first time, perforated 13½ x 12½.

1st printing: 4,791,840

many printings

The following year, during 1929, the electros were overhauled, and many varieties corrected. The corrections were not all made at the same time and different states of the electros are known. Another interesting feature is that some easily seen flaws were not corrected at all and persisted through this issue and the next. (CofA)

Stamps of this issue were printed in a deeper shade of orange than the preceding issue.
